Upholstery Position Vacancy

Based only 5 minutes from the Hobart CBD, this is an excellent opportunity to work as part of our multi-skilled maintenance team. Wrest Point Hotel Casino is seeking a trade qualified upholsterer looking to further their career, or an individual looking to change trades and/or undertake an upholstery apprenticeship. Please note as we operate casinos, you will need to be over the age of 18 to be considered for this role.

Ideally you would have skills using hand and power tools, sewing machines and overlocker, but most importantly; you will have a basic understanding of mathematics (measure, cut & fit), be keen to learn and able to fit in to our tight knit team.

In this role you will have well developed knowledge and skills in all aspects of the trade or be willing to obtain a Nationally Recognised Qualification. Please note the study component for the apprenticeship does require the apprentice to be able to travel to Melbourne and be away from home for a 1 week block at a time.

We undertake commercial upholstery across our hospitality business units. You will develop trade skills and knowledge in woodwork, refurbishment, repairs and reupholstery of:

• Lounges
• Ottomans
• Custom pieces
• Scatter cushions and bolsters
• Armchairs, chairs & bar stools
• Repairing gaming tables and
• Spraying and polishing furniture
