Then you may be the Senior Sous Chef we are seeking to work in The Point Revolving Restaurant. Located on the stunning waterfront just outside the Hobart CBD, this is an amazing rare opportunity to be part of the Wrest Point experience and head up The Point Revolving Restaurant as a Senior Chef.

Working in one of Hobart most iconic restaurants The Point Revolving Restaurant you will have the pleasure of working with some of Tasmania’s finest produce and freshest and local ingredients.  This 100 seater Fine Dining restaurant is fast paced and in a small, tight knit team. The a la carte and gueridon service menu will reflect Tasmanian seasonal produce and will be developed in collaboration with our well respected Executive Chef Andre Kropp. You will provide hands on strong leadership and clear direction whilst promoting a continuous learning environment and implementing employee engagement initiatives to ensure a high performing kitchen team. There is also an administrative component to this role which will see you responsible for a range of routine tasks including: scheduling the department's rosters, setting team targets and creating to-do lists to assist with the prioritisation of tasks and ensure deadlines are met.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

· At least three years prior experience in a similar role within a recognised Fine Dining restaurant;

· Have experience offering gueridon service,

· Have strong experience managing expenses and budgets in a restaurant (food costs, stock ordering and labour costs),

· can work in a corporate environment within company policies and guidelines,

· Must be able to motivate and coach others,

· have flexibility to work across a range of shifts,

· Able to speak personally with customers to deal with food criticism, make menu adjustments and customise meals

· have an innovative way of thinking and enjoy challenging your team to better themselves,

· can use a rage of computer programs such as: Microsoft suite, time and attendance, menu engineering and procurement software

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000 and hours are based on business requirements.
